The European Grand Prix took place on 16 October 1994 at the Circuito de Jerez in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, and covered a distance of 69 laps of 4,428 km each, which corresponds to a total distance of 305.532 km.

Michael Schumacher in the Benetton started the race from pole position, but had to give up the lead at the start to his permanent rival Damon Hill of the Williams Team.
During the race Schumacher was unable to get past Hill. Only due to the miserable pit strategy of the Williams Team Schumacher again passed Hill and took the lead.

Schumacher won the race ahead of Hill and Mika Häkkinen in the McLaren.
